Paris 1900 Official plate

Well, there is no participation medal for the Paris 1900 games. However, many collectors consider the official plate as one to fill in the blank spot. It is kind of rare and hard to set a price on. Most of the auctions have resulted in unsold items and it is not a well documented. So, here are some basic facts:

The size is 41 * 60 mm and it is 3 mm thick. It weighs about 68 grams. I have noted two versions. One from the ministry of Public education and one from the ministry of Physical education.

It is housed in a green or red leather case lettered  EDUCATION PHYSIQUE OFFERT PAR LE MINISTRE. Obverse by F. Vernon. Victorious athlete standing on podium. Reverse four or five line french award legend over laurel branch.
